Project Accomplishments

1.0 Education and Training

  • Trained 450 leaders from 50 barangay organizations on Organizational management and Development
  • Trained 1,260 farmers on Sustainable Agriculture and Livestock Management
  • Trained 96 coop management staff on Financial Management and Bookkeeping

2.0 Farmers Farm Development

2.1 Cattle/Carabao Dispersal

  • 315  heads of cattle/carabao were dispersed to 155 farmers of Ipil, R.T.Lim, Liloy, Payao and Tampilisan

2.2 Goat Dispersal

  • 5,945  heads of pure and native goats were dispersed to the farmers in 9 municipalities of Zamboanga Sibugay and 3 municipalities of Zamboanga del Norte

2.3 Swine Dispersal

  • 724 heads of swine was dispersed to the municipality of Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Norte

2.4 Vegetable Seeds

  • Was able to released assorted vegetable seeds to 475 farmers

2.5 Seedlings Dispersal

  • 23,081 grafted mangoes, lanzones and rambutan were dispersed to Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Norte
  • 92,000 seedlings of Acasia Mangium, Mahogany and Narra were dispersed to 1,250 farmers
  • 72,000 budded seedlings were released to 210 farmers

2.6 Banana Production

  • 115,500 suckers of assorted bananas were planted by 560 farmers  in 4 municipalities of Zamboanga Sibugay

3.0 Sustainable Barangay Development Plan (SBDP)

  • Was able to assist in the formulation of SBDP in 12 municipalities of  Zamboanga Sibugay

4.0 Health Center and Medicines Assistance

  • 12 barangays of Zamboanga Sibugay availed the over the counter medicines and fund for health center renovation

5.0 Soil and Water Conservation

  • Soil erosion were minimized and controlled in 774.5 has. of hilly farms in 9 municipalities of Zamboanga Sibugay and 3 municipalities of Zamboanga del Norte through Sloping Agricultural Land Technology (SALT)

6.0 Water System Development

  • There are 7 completed Level II Spring Development Projects in 6 municipalities of Zamboanga Sibugay and 1 in Zamboanga del Norte

7.0 Organizing

  • Associations – 12 associations organized
  • Cooperatives – 40 village and municipal based cooperatives were organized

8.0 Coastal Resource Development

  • Demonstrated 2 modules of Lapu-lapu fish cages in Cocepcion, Kabasalan
  • Assisted 70 fisherfolk on Talaba culture in Concepcion and Nazareth Kabasalan
  • Were able to put up 2 models on Kyong-kyong culture in barangay Magdaup and Makilas, Ipil
  • Assisted 30 Agar-agar famers in Buluan, Makilas and Magdaup, Ipil
  • Established 2 models in Paje culture in Balucanan, Siay
  • Planted 62.25 has of bakhaw and pagatpat

9.0 Partnership Project w/ Government Agencies and other funding agencies

  • Implemented the Agrarian Support Program in Cainglet ARC (institutional Dev’t) a JBIC funded project.
  • Implemented the Western Mindanao Community Initiatives Project in 8 barangays of Zamboanga Sibugay and 2 barangays of Zamboanga del Sur an IFAD-DAR funded project.
  • Implemented the Phase 1 and 2 of Local Government Support Project “Agriculture Extension” in region 9. This is funded by the Canadian International Development Agency.
  • Implemented the Don Alfaro ARC of Payao on Solar Power Technology. This is funded by the Spanish government through the Department of Agrarian Reform
  • Community Animal Health Volunteer Program (CAHV)- XAES, together with DA-RFU 9, Provet Sibugay, initiated a training program for Community Animal Health Volunteers to fill the gaps in MAO’s presence in the barangays. The partnership started last 2006 and is continuing, a total of 160 CAHV were trained and equipped in 8 out of 16 municipalities of Sibugay. From time to time the CAHV’s aside from serving their respective barangays will also do massive animal health clinic were all CAHVs in the municipality converge in one barangay.
  • Good governance- XAES, in partnership with other funding agencies do barangay development planning and formulation of Executive Legislative Agenda so Annual Investment preparedness can be an area of annual investment if thoroughly planned and captured in the BDPs and ELA.
  • XAES were tasked by the LGU’s of Tungawan and Ipil to prepare their Executive Legislative Agenda for year 2008-2010. Also LGU-Ipil contracted XAES to do barangay development planning in 10 barangays of Ipil
  • Participation- XAES, Executive Director is the Co-chair of the Provincial Development Council of Zamboanga Sibugay and member of the Executive Committee of the Regional Development Council 9.
